ABOUT THE FACILITATORS: William Godwin
From an early love of learning and creating mathematics, I remain fascinated by what can be known, and what can be discovered by sitting attentively in the unknown. Practicing body awareness and tapping into the source of spontaneous, unintended movement (as taught by Tony Crisp and friends) brought me confidence in my own intuition and ability to sit with traumatic and ecstatic experiences while maintaining calm compassion and curiosity. I have studied conflict as it manifests in psychology, relationships and politics -- including facilitating for the Alternatives to Violence Project, and five years of training in Process Oriented Psychology. While discovering the joy of dancing and Contact Improvisation, I became curious to explore consciously my needs regarding intimacy, love and sexuality. Consequently, I am now part of the Human Awareness Institute community, and I have recently trained in the Art of Tantra Massage with John Hawken. "As a workshop facilitator I prefer to address topics that are freshly in my personal focus. My style tends to be more about allowing than directing, and I will often take inspiration from some unexpected incident or disturbance, rather than stick to a plan". Uma Laurence Clapdorp
"I am passionate about presence, conscious movement and continually exploring the themes of flow, connection, intimacy, inner voice and relationship." I am a School of Being teacher, trained in Living Tantra with Jan Day. I am also a Free The Inner Voice Facilitator (Nikki Slade) and a Thai Massage practitioner. My work is also rooted in Sensitive Dance® which I have practiced for 15 years and trained in with Claude Coldy. Inspirations include Movement of Being (Fanny Behrens and Colin Harrison), 5 Rhythms, Contact Improvisation, the Path of Love and numerous precious teachers along the way, as well as being an Architect for numerous years, working in Nature Conservation and building Communities. In a world of busy-ness and exhaustion, Uma offers a space to slow down, land into our human body, discover the responses and resources that arise moment by moment, explore the space of our verticality as humans between Earth and Sky, experience being fully present. |
